Chapter 1

1
Paul, an apostle—not from men, nor through man, but through Jesus Christ, and God the Father, who raised him from the dead—
Paul,[G3972] an[G2532] apostle[G652] —not[G3756] from[G1537] men,[G3588] nor[G3761] through[G1223] man,[G3498] but[G2532] through[G1223] Jesus[G2424] Christ,[G5547] and[G2532] God[G2316] the[G2532] Father,[G3962] who[G3588] raised[G1453] him[G3588] from[G1537] the[G2532] dead —[G3498]
2
and all the brothers[1] who are with me, to the assemblies of Galatia:
and[G2532] all[G3956] the[G2532] brothers[G80] who[G3588] are[G3588] with[G4862] me,[G1473] to[G2532] the[G2532] assemblies[G1577] of[G2532] Galatia:[G1053]
3
Grace to you and peace from God the Father and our Lord Jesus Christ,
Grace[G5485] to[G2532] you[G5210] and[G2532] peace[G1515] from[G1515] God[G2316] the[G2532] Father[G3962] and[G2532] our[G2316] Lord[G2962] Jesus[G2424] Christ,[G5547]
4
who gave himself for our sins, that he might deliver us out of this present evil age, according to the will of our God and Father—
who[G3588] gave[G1325] himself[G1438] for[G5228] our[G2316] sins,[G266] that[G3588] he[G2532] might[G2532] deliver[G1807] us[G1325] out[G1537] of[G1537] this[G3588] present[G1764] evil[G4190] age,[G165] according[G2596] to[G2532] the[G2532] will[G2307] of[G1537] our[G2316] God[G2316] and[G2532] Father —[G3962]
5
to whom be the glory forever and ever. Amen.
to[G1519] whom[G3739] be[G1519] the[G1519] glory[G1391] forever[G1519] and[G1391] ever.[G1519] Amen.[G281]
6
I marvel that you are so quickly deserting him who called you in the grace of Christ to a different “good news”,
I[G3754] marvel[G2296] that[G3754] you[G5210] are[G3588] so[G3779] quickly[G5030] deserting[G3346] him[G3588] who[G3588] called[G2564] you[G5210] in[G1722] the[G1722] grace[G5485] of[G5485] Christ[G5547] to[G1519] a[G1519] different[G2087] “good[G3588] news”,[G2098]
7
but there isn’t another “good news.” Only there are some who trouble you and want to pervert the Good News of Christ.
but[G2532] there[G2532] isn’t[G3756] another[G3739] “good[G3588] news.”[G2098] Only[G1487] there[G2532] are[G1510] some[G5100] who[G3739] trouble[G5015] you[G5210] and[G2532] want[G2309] to[G2532] pervert[G3344] the[G2532] Good[G3588] News[G2098] of[G2532] Christ.[G5547]
8
But even though we, or an angel from heaven, should preach to you any “good news” other than that which we preached to you, let him be cursed.
But[G2532] even[G2532] though[G1437] we,[G2249] or[G2228] an[G2532] angel[G32] from[G1537] heaven,[G3772] should[G2532] preach[G2097] to[G2532] you[G5210] any[G1437] “good[G2097] news[G2097] ” other[G3739] than[G2228] that[G3739] which[G3739] we[G2249] preached[G2097] to[G2532] you,[G5210] let[G1510] him[G3739] be[G1510] cursed.[G1944]
9
As we have said before, so I now say again: if any man preaches to you any “good news” other than that which you received, let him be cursed.
As[G5613] we[G3739] have[G2532] said[G3004] before,[G3844] so[G2532] I[G3739] now[G2532] say[G3004] again:[G3825] if[G1487] any[G5100] man[G5100] preaches[G2784] to[G2532] you[G5210] any[G5100] “good[G2097] news[G2097] ” other[G3739] than[G3844] that[G3739] which[G3739] you[G5210] received,[G3880] let[G1510] him[G3739] be[G1510] cursed.[G1944]
10
For am I now seeking the favor of men, or of God? Or am I striving to please men? For if I were still pleasing men, I wouldn’t be a servant of Christ.
For[G1063] am[G1510] I[G1063] now[G1510] seeking[G2212] the[G3588] favor[G3982] of[G2316] men,[G1401] or[G2228] of[G2316] God?[G2316] Or[G2228] am[G1510] I[G1063] striving[G2212] to[G2212] please[G700] men?[G1401] For[G1063] if[G1487] I[G1063] were[G1510] still[G2089] pleasing[G2101] men,[G1401] I[G1063] wouldn’t be[G1510] a[G1510] servant[G1401] of[G2316] Christ.[G5547]
11
But I make known to you, brothers, concerning the Good News which was preached by me, that it is not according to man.
But[G1161] I[G1473] make[G1107] known[G1107] to[G2596] you,[G5210] brothers,[G80] concerning[G2596] the[G1161] Good[G2097] News[G2097] which[G3588] was[G1510] preached[G2097] by[G5259] me,[G1473] that[G3754] it[G3754] is[G1510] not[G3756] according[G2596] to[G2596] man.[G3756]
12
For I didn’t receive it from man, nor was I taught it, but it came to me through revelation of Jesus Christ.
For[G1063] I[G1473] didn’t[G3756] receive[G3880] it[G1063] from[G3844] man,[G444] nor[G3761] was[G2424] I[G1473] taught[G1321] it,[G1063] but[G1063] it[G1063] came[G1223] to[G2424] me[G1473] through[G1223] revelation[G602] of[G1223] Jesus[G2424] Christ.[G5547]
13
For you have heard of my way of living in time past in the Jews’ religion, how that beyond measure I persecuted the assembly of God and ravaged it.
For[G1063] you[G3754] have[G2532] heard[G191] of[G2316] my[G1699] way[G2596] of[G2316] living[G2198] in[G1722] time[G4218] past[G4218] in[G1722] the[G1722] Jews’[G2453] religion,[G2356] how[G3754] that[G3754] beyond[G3754] measure[G5236] I[G2532] persecuted[G1377] the[G1722] assembly[G1577] of[G2316] God[G2316] and[G2532] ravaged it.[G2532]
14
I advanced in the Jews’ religion beyond many of my own age among my countrymen, being more exceedingly zealous for the traditions of my fathers.
I[G1473] advanced[G4260] in[G1722] the[G1722] Jews’[G2453] religion[G2356] beyond[G5228] many[G4183] of[G2532] my[G1722] own[G2398] age[G165] among[G1722] my[G1722] countrymen,[G1085] being[G5225] more[G4183] exceedingly[G4056] zealous[G2207] for[G5228] the[G1722] traditions[G3862] of[G2532] my[G1722] fathers.[G3862]
15
But when it was the good pleasure of God, who separated me from my mother’s womb and called me through his grace
But[G1161] when[G3753] it[G2532] was[G3588] the[G2532] good[G2106] pleasure[G2106] of[G1537] God,[G2532] who[G3588] separated[G873] me[G1473] from[G1537] my[G1473] mother’s[G3384] womb[G2836] and[G2532] called[G2564] me[G1473] through[G1223] his[G1223] grace,[G5485]
16
to reveal his Son in me, that I might preach him among the Gentiles, I didn’t immediately confer with flesh and blood,
to[G2443] reveal[G601] his[G1722] Son[G5207] in[G1722] me,[G1473] that[G2443] I[G1473] might[G2532] preach[G2097] him[G3588] among[G1722] the[G1722] Gentiles,[G1484] I[G1473] didn’t[G3756] immediately[G2112] confer[G4820] with[G1722] flesh[G4561] and[G2532] blood,[G129]
17
nor did I go up to Jerusalem to those who were apostles before me, but I went away into Arabia. Then I returned to Damascus.
nor[G3761] did[G2532] I[G1473] go[G1519] up[G1519] to[G1519] Jerusalem[G2414] to[G1519] those[G3588] who[G3588] were[G3588] apostles[G652] before[G4253] me,[G1473] but[G2532] I[G1473] went[G2532] away[G5290] into[G1519] Arabia.[G688] Then[G2532] I[G1473] returned[G5290] to[G1519] Damascus.[G1154]
18
Then after three years I went up to Jerusalem to visit Peter, and stayed with him fifteen days.
Then[G2532] after[G3326] three[G5140] years[G2094] I[G2532] went[G2532] up[G1519] to[G1519] Jerusalem[G2414] to[G1519] visit[G1980] Peter,[G2532] and[G2532] stayed[G1961] with[G3326] him[G2532] fifteen[G1178] days.[G2250]
19
But of the other apostles I saw no one except James, the Lord’s brother.
But[G1161] of[G2962] the[G1161] other[G2087] apostles[G652] I[G1161] saw[G3708] no[G3756] one[G3588] except[G1487] James,[G2385] the[G1161] Lord’s[G2962] brother.[G80]
20
Now about the things which I write to you, behold,[1] before God, I’m not lying.
Now[G1161] about[G3588] the[G1161] things[G3588] which[G3739] I[G3739] write[G1125] to[G3756] you,[G5210] behold,[G2400] before[G1799] God,[G2316] I’m not[G3756] lying.[G5574]
21
Then I came to the regions of Syria and Cilicia.
Then[G2532] I[G2532] came[G2064] to[G1519] the[G2532] regions[G2824] of[G2532] Syria[G4947] and[G2532] Cilicia.[G2791]
22
I was still unknown by face to the assemblies of Judea which were in Christ,
I[G1161] was[G1510] still[G2089] unknown[G50] by[G1722] face[G4383] to[G1722] the[G1722] assemblies[G1577] of[G1577] Judea[G2449] which[G3588] were[G1510] in[G1722] Christ,[G5547]
23
but they only heard: “He who once persecuted us now preaches the faith that he once tried to destroy.”
but[G1161] they[G1161] only[G3440] heard,[G191] “He[G1161] who[G3739] once[G4218] persecuted[G1377] us[G2097] now[G1161] preaches[G2784] the[G1161] faith[G4102] that[G3754] he[G1161] once[G4218] tried[G3985] to[G1161] destroy.”[G4199]
24
So they glorified God in me.
So[G2532] they[G2532] glorified[G1392] God[G2316] in[G1722] me.[G1473]
