Chapter 12

1.1
A revelation: Yahweh’s word concerning Israel. Yahweh, who stretches out the heavens, and lays the foundation of the earth, and forms the spirit of man within him says:
2.1
“Behold, I will make Jerusalem a cup of reeling to all the surrounding peoples, and it will also be on Judah in the siege against Jerusalem.
3.1
It will happen in that day that I will make Jerusalem a burdensome stone for all the peoples. All who burden themselves with it will be severely wounded, and all the nations of the earth will be gathered together against it.
4.1
In that day,” says Yahweh, “I will strike every horse with terror, and his rider with madness; and I will open my eyes on the house of Judah,
4.2
and will strike every horse of the peoples with blindness.
5.1
The chieftains of Judah will say in their heart, ‘The inhabitants of Jerusalem are my strength in Yahweh of Armies their God.’
6.1
In that day I will make the chieftains of Judah like a pan of fire among wood, and like a flaming torch among sheaves;
6.2
and they will devour all the surrounding peoples, on the right hand and on the left;
6.3
and Jerusalem will yet again dwell in their own place, even in Jerusalem.
7.1
Yahweh also will save the tents of Judah first, that the glory of David’s house and the glory of the inhabitants of Jerusalem not be magnified above Judah.

In that day Yahweh will defend the inhabitants of Jerusalem.

the family of the house of Nathan apart, and their wives apart;

the family of the house of Levi apart, and their wives apart;

the family of the Shimeites apart, and their wives apart; all the families who remain, every family apart, and their wives apart.

Chapter 12

1

A revelation: Yahweh’s word concerning Israel. Yahweh, who stretches out the heavens, and lays the foundation of the earth, and forms the spirit of man within him says:

A[H3068] revelation[H1540] of[H3068] Yahweh’s[H3068] word[H1697] concerning[H5921] Israel:[H3478] Yahweh,[H3068] who[H3068] stretches[H5186] out[H5186] the[H5002] heavens[H8064] and[H3478] lays[H3245] the[H5002] foundation[H3245] of[H3068] the[H5002] earth,[H8064] and[H3478] forms[H3335] the[H5002] spirit[H7307] of[H3068] man[H376] within[H7130] him[H5921] says:[H5002]
2

“Behold, I will make Jerusalem a cup of reeling to all the surrounding peoples, and it will also be on Judah in the siege against Jerusalem.

Behold,[H2009] I[H2009] will[H1961] make[H7760] Jerusalem[H3389] a[H1961] cup[H5592] of[H5971] reeling[H7478] to[H1961] all[H3605] the[H3605] surrounding[H5439] peoples,[H5971] and[H3063] it[H7760] will[H1961] also[H1571] be[H1961] on[H5921] Judah[H3063] in[H5921] the[H3605] siege[H4692] against[H5921] Jerusalem.[H3389]
3

It will happen in that day that I will make Jerusalem a burdensome stone for all the peoples. All who burden themselves with it will be severely wounded, and all the nations of the earth will be gathered together against it.

It[H7760] will[H1961] happen[H1961] in[H5921] that[H5971] day[H3117] that[H5971] I[H3117] will[H1961] make[H7760] Jerusalem[H3389] a[H1961] burdensome[H6006] stone[H68] for[H5921] all[H3605] the[H3605] peoples.[H5971] All[H3605] who[H3605] burden[H6006] themselves[H7760] with[H5921] it[H7760] will[H1961] be[H1961] severely[H8295] wounded,[H2491] and[H3117] all[H3605] the[H3605] nations[H1471] of[H3117] the[H3605] earth[H776] will[H1961] be[H1961] gathered together[H622] against[H5921] it.[H7760]

4
In that day,” says Yahweh, “I will strike every horse with terror, and his rider with madness; and I will open my eyes on the house of Judah, and will strike every horse of the peoples with blindness.
In[H5921] that[H5971] day,”[H3117] says[H5002] Yahweh,[H3068] “I[H3117] will[H3068] strike[H5221] every[H3605] horse[H5483] with[H1004] terror[H2851] and[H3063] his[H3605] rider[H7392] with[H1004] madness.[H7697] I[H3117] will[H3068] open[H6491] my[H3605] eyes[H5869] on[H5921] the[H3605] house[H1004] of[H1004] Judah,[H3063] and[H3063] will[H3068] strike[H5221] every[H3605] horse[H5483] of[H1004] the[H3605] peoples[H5971] with[H1004] blindness.[H5788]
5

The chieftains of Judah will say in their heart, ‘The inhabitants of Jerusalem are my strength in Yahweh of Armies their God.’

The[H3068] chieftains of[H441] Judah[H3063] will[H3068] say[H559] in[H3427] their[H3068] heart,[H3820] ‘The[H3068] inhabitants[H3427] of[H3068] Jerusalem[H3389] are[H3068] my[H3068] strength[H5797] in[H3427] Yahweh[H3068] of[H3068] Armies[H6635] their[H3068] God.’[H3068]

6

In that day I will make the chieftains of Judah like a pan of fire among wood, and like a flaming torch among sheaves; and they will devour all the surrounding peoples, on the right hand and on the left; and Jerusalem will yet again dwell in their own place, even in Jerusalem.

In[H3427] that[H5971] day[H3117] I[H3117] will[H5971] make[H7760] the[H3605] chieftains of[H441] Judah[H3063] like[H8478] a[H7760] pan[H3595] of[H3117] fire[H784] among[H5921] wood,[H6086] and[H3063] like[H8478] a[H7760] flaming[H3852] torch[H3940] among[H5921] sheaves.[H5995] They[H3117] will[H5971] devour[H398] all[H3605] the[H3605] surrounding[H5439] peoples[H5971] on[H5921] the[H3605] right[H3225] hand[H3225] and[H3063] on[H5921] the[H3605] left;[H8040] and[H3063] Jerusalem[H3389] will[H5971] yet[H5750] again[H5750] dwell[H3427] in[H3427] their[H3605] own[H5971] place,[H8478] even[H5750] in[H3427] Jerusalem.[H3389]

7
Yahweh also will save the tents of Judah first, that the glory of David’s house and the glory of the inhabitants of Jerusalem not be magnified above Judah.
Yahweh[H3068] also[H3068] will[H3068] save[H3467] the[H5921] tents[H168] of[H1004] Judah[H3063] first,[H7223] that[H3068] the[H5921] glory[H8597] of[H1004] David’s[H1732] house[H1004] and[H3063] the[H5921] glory[H8597] of[H1004] the[H5921] inhabitants[H3427] of[H1004] Jerusalem[H3389] not[H3808] be[H3808] magnified[H1431] above[H5921] Judah.[H3063]
8

In that day Yahweh will defend the inhabitants of Jerusalem. He who is feeble among them at that day will be like David, and David’s house will be like God, like Yahweh’s angel before them.

In[H3427] that[H3117] day[H3117] Yahweh[H3068] will[H3068] defend[H1598] the[H6440] inhabitants[H3427] of[H1004] Jerusalem.[H3389] He[H1931] who[H1931] is[H3068] feeble[H3782] among[H3427] them[H6440] at[H3427] that[H3117] day[H3117] will[H3068] be[H1961] like[H1961] David,[H1732] and[H3068] David’s[H1732] house[H1004] will[H3068] be[H1961] like[H1961] God,[H3068] like[H1961] Yahweh’s[H3068] angel[H4397] before[H6440] them.[H6440]
9

It will happen in that day, that I will seek to destroy all the nations that come against Jerusalem.

It[H1931] will[H1961] happen[H1961] in[H5921] that[H3605] day,[H3117] that[H3605] I[H3117] will[H1961] seek[H1245] to[H1961] destroy[H8045] all[H3605] the[H3605] nations[H1471] that[H3605] come[H1961] against[H5921] Jerusalem.[H3389]
10

I will pour on David’s house, and on the inhabitants of Jerusalem, the spirit of grace and of supplication; and they will look to me[1] whom they have pierced; and they shall mourn for him, as one mourns for his only son, and will grieve bitterly for him, as one grieves for his firstborn.

I[H5921] will[H1004] pour[H8210] on[H5921] David’s[H1732] house[H1004] and[H1004] on[H5921] the[H5921] inhabitants[H3427] of[H1004] Jerusalem[H3389] the[H5921] spirit[H7307] of[H1004] grace[H2580] and[H1004] of[H1004] supplication.[H8469] They[H5921] will[H1004] look[H5027] to[H5921] me[H5921] whom[H834] they[H5921] have[H1004] pierced;[H1856] and[H1004] they[H5921] shall[H1004] mourn[H5594] for[H5921] him[H5921] as[H3389] one[H3173] mourns[H5594] for[H5921] his[H1732] only[H3173] son,[H3173] and[H1004] will[H1004] grieve[H6087] bitterly[H4843] for[H5921] him[H5921] as[H3389] one[H3173] grieves for[H5921] his[H1732] firstborn.[H1060]
11

In that day there will be a great mourning in Jerusalem, like the mourning of Hadadrimmon in the valley of Megiddon.

In[H3117] that[H3117] day[H3117] there[H3117] will[H3389] be[H3117] a[H3117] great[H1431] mourning[H4553] in[H3117] Jerusalem,[H3389] like[H3117] the[H3117] mourning[H4553] of[H3117] Hadadrimmon[H1910] in[H3117] the[H3117] valley[H1237] of[H3117] Megiddo.[H4023]
12.0
The land will mourn, every family apart; the family of David’s house apart, and their wives apart; the family of the house of Nathan apart, and their wives apart;
The[H1732] land[H776] will[H1004] mourn,[H5594] every[H4940] family[H4940] apart;[H914] the[H1732] family[H4940] of[H1004] David’s[H1732] house[H1004] apart,[H914] and[H1004] their[H1732] wives[H802] apart;[H914] the[H1732] family[H4940] of[H1004] the[H1732] house[H1004] of[H1004] Nathan[H5416] apart,[H914] and[H1004] their[H1732] wives[H802] apart;[H914]

Chapter 13

1

“In that day there will be a spring opened to David’s house and to the inhabitants of Jerusalem, for sin and for uncleanness.

2

It will come to pass in that day, says Yahweh of Armies, that I will cut off the names of the idols out of the land, and they will be remembered no more. I will also cause the prophets and the spirit of impurity to pass out of the land.

3

It will happen that, when anyone still prophesies, then his father and his mother who bore him will tell him, ‘You must die, because you speak lies in Yahweh’s name;’ and his father and his mother who bore him will stab him when he prophesies.

4

It will happen in that day, that the prophets will each be ashamed of his vision when he prophesies; they won’t wear a hairy mantle to deceive,

5

but he will say, ‘I am no prophet, I am a tiller of the ground; for I have been made a bondservant from my youth.’

6
One will say to him, ‘What are these wounds between your arms?’ Then he will answer, ‘Those with which I was wounded in the house of my friends.’
7

“Awake, sword, against my shepherd, and against the man who is close to me,” says Yahweh of Armies. “Strike the shepherd, and the sheep will be scattered; and I will turn my hand against the little ones.

8

It shall happen that in all the land,” says Yahweh, “two parts in it will be cut off and die; but the third will be left in it.

9

I will bring the third part into the fire, and will refine them as silver is refined, and will test them like gold is tested. They will call on my name, and I will hear them. I will say, ‘It is my people;’ and they will say, ‘Yahweh is my God.’ ”
