Chapter 2

1.1
I lifted up my eyes, and saw, and behold, a man with a measuring line in his hand.
2.1
Then I asked, “Where are you going?” He said to me, “To measure Jerusalem , to see what is its width and what is its length.”
5.1
Behold, the angel who talked with me went out, and another angel went out to meet him, and said to him, “Run, speak to this young man, saying, ‘Jerusalem will be inhabited as villages without walls, because of the multitude of men and livestock in it. For I,’ says Yahweh, ‘will be to her a wall of fire around it, and I will be the glory in the middle of her.
6.1
Come! Come! Flee from the land of the north,’ says Yahweh; ‘for I have spread you abroad as the four winds of the sky,’ says Yahweh.
7.1
‘Come, Zion ! Escape, you who dwell with the daughter of Babylon.’
8.1
For Yahweh of Armies says: ‘For honor he has sent me to the nations which plundered you; for he who touches you touches the apple of his eye.
9.1
For, behold, I will shake my hand over them, and they will be a plunder to those who served them; and you will know that Yahweh of Armies has sent me.
10.1
Sing and rejoice, daughter of Zion ; for, behold, I come, and I will dwell within you,’ says Yahweh.
11.1
Many nations shall join themselves to Yahweh in that day, and shall be my people; and I will dwell among you, and you shall know that Yahweh of Armies has sent me to you.
12.1
Yahweh will inherit Judah as his portion in the holy land, and will again choose Jerusalem.
13.1
Be silent, all flesh, before Yahweh; for he has roused himself from his holy habitation!”

Chapter 3

1.1
He showed me Joshua the high priest standing before Yahweh’s angel, and Satan standing at his right hand to be his adversary.
2.1
Yahweh said to Satan, “Yahweh rebuke you, Satan! Yes, Yahweh who has chosen Jerusalem rebuke you! Isn’t this a burning stick plucked out of the fire?”
4.1
Now Joshua was clothed with filthy garments, and was standing before the angel. He answered and spoke to those who stood before him, saying, “Take the filthy garments off him.” To him he said, “Behold, I have caused your iniquity to pass from you, and I will clothe you with rich clothing.”
5.1
I said, “Let them set a clean turban on his head.”
5.2
So they set a clean turban on his head, and clothed him; and Yahweh’s angel was standing by. Yahweh’s angel protested to Joshua, saying,
7.1
Yahweh of Armies says: ‘If you will walk in my ways, and if you will follow my instructions, then you also shall judge my house, and shall also keep my courts, and I will give you a place of access among these who stand by.
8.1
Hear now, Joshua the high priest, you and your fellows who sit before you; for they are men who are a sign:
8.2
for, behold, I will bring out my servant, the Branch.
9.1
For, behold, the stone that I have set before Joshua; on one stone are seven eyes:

behold, I will engrave its engraving,’ says Yahweh of Armies,

I lifted up my eyes, and saw, and behold, a man with a measuring line in his hand.

I[H2009] lifted[H5375] up[H5375] my[H7200] eyes,[H5869] and[H5869] saw,[H7200] and[H5869] behold,[H2009] a[H5375] man[H5375] with[H5869] a[H5375] measuring[H4060] line[H6957] in[H5869] his[H5375] hand.[H3027]
2

Then I asked, “Where are you going?” He said to me, “To measure Jerusalem, to see what is its width and what is its length.”

Then[H1696] I[H4100] asked,[H4100] “Where[H4100] are[H3478] you[H4100] going?”[H1980] He[H3389] said[H1696] to[H1696] me,[H1696] “To[H1696] measure[H4058] Jerusalem,[H3389] to[H1696] see[H7200] what[H4100] is[H4100] its[H7161] width[H7341] and[H3063] what[H4100] is[H4100] its[H7161] length.”[H753]

Behold,[H7200] the[H7200] angel[H4397] who[H3068] talked[H1696] with[H3068] me[H7200] went[H3068] out,[H7200] and[H3068] another[H7200] angel[H4397] went[H3068] out[H7200] to[H3068] meet[H7200] him,[H7200]

5

For I,’ says Yahweh, ‘will be to her a wall of fire around it, and I will be the glory in the middle of her.

For[H3027] I,’[H2009] says[H559] Yahweh,[H3068] ‘will[H5869] be[H3027] to[H3027] her[H5375] a[H5375] wall[H2346] of[H3027] fire[H784] around[H3027] it,[H7200] and[H3027] I[H2009] will[H5869] be[H3027] the[H7200] glory[H3519] in[H3027] the[H7200] middle[H8432] of[H3027] her.[H5375]

For Yahweh of Armies says: ‘For honor he has sent me to the nations which plundered you; for he who touches you touches the apple of his eye.

For[H3427] Yahweh[H3068] of[H3427] Armies[H6635] says:[H1696] ‘For[H3427] honor[H3519] he[H3389] has[H3389] sent[H7971] me[H1696] to[H1696] the[H8432] nations[H1471] which[H834] plundered[H962] you;[H8432] for[H3427] he[H3389] who[H3427] touches[H5060] you[H8432] touches[H5060] the[H8432] apple[H8598] of[H3427] his[H8432] eye.[H5869]
9

For, behold, I will shake my hand over them, and they will be a plunder to those who served them; and you will know that Yahweh of Armies has sent me.

For,[H3068] behold,[H2009] I[H3068] will[H3068] shake[H7493] my[H3068] hand[H3027] over[H3068] them,[H5439] and[H3068] they[H3068] will[H3068] be[H1961] a[H1961] plunder[H962] to[H3068] those[H1961] who[H3068] served[H1961] them;[H5439] and[H3068] you[H8432] will[H3068] know[H3045] that[H3068] Yahweh[H3068] of[H3068] Armies[H6635] has[H3068] sent[H3068] me.[H1961]
10

Sing and rejoice, daughter of Zion; for, behold, I come, and I will dwell within you,’ says Yahweh.

Sing[H7891] and[H3068] rejoice,[H8055] daughter[H1323] of[H3068] Zion![H6566] For[H3588] behold,[H2009] I[H3588] come[H935] and[H3068] I[H3588] will[H3068] dwell[H3427] within[H7130] you,’[H3588] says[H5002] Yahweh.[H3068]
11

Many nations shall join themselves to Yahweh in that day, and shall be my people; and I will dwell among you, and you shall know that Yahweh of Armies has sent me to you.

Many[H7227] nations[H1471] shall[H1323] join[H3427] themselves[H905] to[H1323] Yahweh[H3068] in[H3427] that[H4422] day,[H3117] and[H3427] shall[H1323] be[H6726] my[H4422] people;[H3427] and[H3427] I[H589] will[H1323] dwell[H3427] among[H3427] you,[H6726] and[H3427] you[H6726] shall[H1323] know[H3045] that[H4422] Yahweh[H3068] of[H1323] Armies[H6635] has[H6726] sent[H7971] me[H413] to[H1323] you.[H6726]

Be silent, all flesh, before Yahweh; for he has roused himself from his holy habitation!”

Be[H1961] silent,[H2790] all[H3045] flesh,[H1320] before[H5921] Yahweh;[H3068] for[H3588] he[H3588] has[H3068] roused[H5782] himself[H3027] from[H5921] his[H3068] holy[H6944] habitation!”[H5116]
