Chapter 65

12.1
I will destine you to the sword, and you will all bow down to the slaughter; because when I called, you didn’t answer. When I spoke, you didn’t listen; but you did that which was evil in my eyes, and chose that in which I didn’t delight.”
13.1
Therefore the Lord Yahweh says, “Behold, my servants will eat, but you will be hungry; behold, my servants will drink, but you will be thirsty. Behold, my servants will rejoice, but you will be disappointed;
14.1
Behold, my servants will sing for joy of heart, but you will cry for sorrow of heart, and will wail for anguish of spirit.
15.1
You will leave your name for a curse to my chosen;
15.2
and the Lord Yahweh will kill you. He will call his servants by another name, so that he who blesses himself in the earth will bless himself in the God of truth;
16.1
and he who swears in the earth will swear by the God of truth; because the former troubles are forgotten, and because they are hidden from my eyes.
17.1
“For, behold, I create new heavens and a new earth;
17.2
and the former things will not be remembered, nor come into mind.
18.1
But be glad and rejoice forever in that which I create;
18.2
for, behold, I create Jerusalem to be a delight, and her people a joy.
19.1
I will rejoice in Jerusalem, and delight in my people; and the voice of weeping and the voice of crying will be heard in her no more.
20.1
“No more will there be an infant who only lives a few days, nor an old man who has not filled his days; for the child will die one hundred years old, and the sinner being one hundred years old will be accursed. They will build houses and inhabit them.
21.1
They will plant vineyards and eat their fruit.

Chapter 66

12.1
For Yahweh says, “Behold, I will extend peace to her like a river, and the glory of the nations like an overflowing stream;
12.2
and you will nurse. You will be carried on her side, and will be dandled on her knees. As one whom his mother comforts, so I will comfort you.
14.1
You will be comforted in Jerusalem.” You will see it, and your heart shall rejoice, and your bones will flourish like the tender grass. Yahweh’s hand will be known among his servants; and he will have indignation against his enemies.
15.1
For, behold, Yahweh will come with fire, and his chariots will be like the whirlwind; to render his anger with fierceness, and his rebuke with flames of fire.
16.1
For Yahweh will execute judgment by fire and by his sword on all flesh; and those slain by Yahweh will be many.
17.1
“Those who sanctify themselves and purify themselves to go to the gardens, behind one in the middle, eating pig’s meat, abominable things, and the mouse, they shall come to an end together,” says Yahweh.
18.1
“For I know their works and their thoughts. The time comes that I will gather all nations and languages, and they will come, and will see my glory.

Chapter 65

1
“I am inquired of by those who didn’t ask. I am found by those who didn’t seek me. I said, ‘See me, see me,’ to a nation that was not called by my name.
I[H2005] am[H2005] inquired[H7592] of[H8034] by[H7121] those[H1992] who[H4672] didn’t[H3808] ask.[H7592] I[H2005] am[H2005] found[H4672] by[H7121] those[H1992] who[H4672] didn’t[H3808] seek[H1245] me.[H7121] I[H2005] said,[H7121] ‘See[H2005] me,[H7121] see[H2005] me,’[H7121] to[H1245] a[H4672] nation[H1471] that[H1471] was[H8034] not[H3808] called[H7121] by[H7121] my[H1245] name.[H8034]
2
I have spread out my hands all day to a rebellious people, who walk in a way that is not good, after their own thoughts;
I[H3117] have[H5971] spread[H6566] out[H6566] my[H3605] hands[H3027] all[H3605] day[H3117] to[H1980] a[H6566] rebellious[H5637] people,[H5971] who[H3605] walk[H1980] in[H1980] a[H6566] way[H1870] that[H5971] is[H3117] not[H3808] good,[H2896] after[H3117] their[H3605] own[H5971] thoughts;[H4284]
3
a people who provoke me to my face continually, sacrificing in gardens, and burning incense on bricks;
a[H2076] people[H5971] who[H5971] provoke[H3707] me[H6440] to[H5921] my[H5921] face[H6440] continually,[H8548] sacrificing[H2076] in[H5921] gardens,[H1593] and[H5971] burning[H6999] incense[H6999] on[H5921] bricks;[H3843]
4
who sit among the graves, and spend nights in secret places; who eat pig’s meat, and broth of abominable things is in their vessels;
who[H3427] sit[H3427] among[H3427] the[H3885] graves,[H6913] and[H3427] spend[H3885] nights[H3915] in[H3427] secret[H5341] places;[H5341] who[H3427] eat[H398] pig’s meat,[H1320] and[H3427] broth[H4839] of[H3427] abominable[H6292] things[H3627] is[H1320] in[H3427] their[H3427] vessels;[H3627]
5
who say, ‘Stay by yourself, don’t come near to me, for I am holier than you.’ These are smoke in my nose, a fire that burns all day.
who[H3605] say,[H559] ‘Stay[H3427] by[H3117] yourself,[H859] don’t[H408] come[H7126] near[H7126] to[H3117] me,[H5066] for[H3588] I[H3588] am[H1961] holier[H6942] than[H3588] you.’[H3588] These[H3605] are[H3117] smoke[H6227] in[H3117] my[H3605] nose,[H639] a[H3588] fire[H784] that[H3588] burns[H3344] all[H3605] day.[H3117]
6
“Behold, it is written before me: I will not keep silence, but will repay, yes, I will repay into their bosom,
Behold,[H2009] it[H5921] is[H2009] written[H3789] before[H6440] me:[H6440] I[H3588] will[H3808] not[H3808] keep[H2814] silence,[H2814] but[H3588] will[H3808] repay,[H7999] yes,[H3588] I[H3588] will[H3808] repay[H7999] into[H5921] their[H6440] bosom[H2436]
7
your own iniquities, and the iniquities of your fathers together”, says Yahweh, “who have burned incense on the mountains, and blasphemed me on the hills. Therefore I will first measure their work into their bosom.”
your[H3068] own[H1961] iniquities[H5771] and[H3068] the[H5921] iniquities[H5771] of[H3068] your[H3068] fathers[H1] together”,[H3162] says[H559] Yahweh,[H3068] “who[H3068] have[H3068] burned[H6999] incense[H6999] on[H5921] the[H5921] mountains,[H2022] and[H3068] blasphemed[H2778] me[H5921] on[H5921] the[H5921] hills.[H1389] Therefore[H5921] I[H5921] will[H3068] first[H7223] measure[H4058] their[H3068] work[H6468] into[H5921] their[H3068] bosom.”[H2436]
8
Yahweh says, “As the new wine is found in the cluster, and one says, ‘Don’t destroy it, for a blessing is in it:’ so I will do for my servants’ sake, that I may not destroy them all.
Yahweh[H3068] says,[H3541] “As[H6213] the[H3605] new[H8492] wine[H8492] is[H3068] found[H4672] in[H3068] the[H3605] cluster,[H811] and[H3068] one[H3605] says,[H3541] ‘Don’t[H408] destroy[H7843] it,[H3588] for[H3588] a[H6213] blessing[H1293] is[H3068] in[H3068] it:’[H3588] so[H3651] I[H3588] will[H3068] do[H6213] for[H3588] my[H3605] servants’[H5650] sake,[H4616] that[H3588] I[H3588] may[H3068] not[H1115] destroy[H7843] them[H6213] all.[H3605]
9
I will bring offspring out of Jacob, and out of Judah an inheritor of my mountains. My chosen will inherit it, and my servants will dwell there.
I[H5650] will[H5650] bring[H3318] offspring[H2233] out[H3318] of[H2022] Jacob,[H3290] and[H3063] out[H3318] of[H2022] Judah[H3063] an[H8033] inheritor[H3423] of[H2022] my[H3318] mountains.[H2022] My[H3318] chosen[H977] will[H5650] inherit[H3423] it,[H8033] and[H3063] my[H3318] servants[H5650] will[H5650] dwell[H7931] there.[H8033]
10
Sharon will be a fold of flocks, and the valley of Achor a place for herds to lie down in, for my people who have sought me.
Sharon[H8289] will[H1961] be[H1961] a[H1961] fold[H5116] of[H6010] flocks,[H6629] and[H5971] the[H1875] valley[H6010] of[H6010] Achor[H5911] a[H1961] place[H1961] for[H5971] herds[H1241] to[H1961] lie[H1961] down[H3381] in,[H6629] for[H5971] my[H1961] people[H5971] who[H5971] have[H1961] sought[H1875] me.[H1875]
11
“But you who forsake Yahweh, who forget my holy mountain, who prepare a table for Fortune, and who fill up mixed wine to Destiny;
But[H5800] you[H5800] who[H3068] forsake[H5800] Yahweh,[H3068] who[H3068] forget[H7911] my[H3068] holy[H6944] mountain,[H2022] who[H3068] prepare[H6186] a[H3068] table[H7979] for[H3068] Fortune,[H1409] and[H3068] who[H3068] fill[H4390] up[H6186] mixed[H4469] wine[H4469] to[H3068] Destiny;[H4507]
12

I will destine you to the sword, and you will all bow down to the slaughter; because when I called, you didn’t answer. When I spoke, you didn’t listen; but you did that which was evil in my eyes, and chose that in which I didn’t delight.”

I[H3282] will[H5869] destine[H4487] you[H3605] to[H1696] the[H3605] sword,[H2719] and[H6030] you[H3605] will[H5869] all[H3605] bow[H3766] down[H3766] to[H1696] the[H3605] slaughter;[H2874] because[H3282] when[H8085] I[H3282] called,[H7121] you[H3605] didn’t[H3808] answer.[H6030] When[H8085] I[H3282] spoke,[H1696] you[H3605] didn’t[H3808] listen;[H8085] but[H3808] you[H3605] did[H6213] that[H3605] which[H5869] was[H7451] evil[H7451] in[H6213] my[H8085] eyes,[H5869] and[H6030] chose[H6213] that[H3605] in[H6213] which[H5869] I[H3282] didn’t[H3808] delight.”[H2654]
13

Therefore the Lord Yahweh says, “Behold, my servants will eat, but you will be hungry; behold, my servants will drink, but you will be thirsty. Behold, my servants will rejoice, but you will be disappointed;

Therefore[H3651] the[H3069] Lord[H3069] Yahweh[H3068] says,[H3541] “Behold,[H2009] my[H5650] servants[H5650] will[H5650] eat,[H398] but[H2009] you[H3651] will[H5650] be[H5650] hungry;[H7456] behold,[H2009] my[H5650] servants[H5650] will[H5650] drink,[H8354] but[H2009] you[H3651] will[H5650] be[H5650] thirsty.[H6770] Behold,[H2009] my[H5650] servants[H5650] will[H5650] rejoice,[H8055] but[H2009] you[H3651] will[H5650] be[H5650] disappointed.[H954]
14

Behold, my servants will sing for joy of heart, but you will cry for sorrow of heart, and will wail for anguish of spirit.

Behold,[H2009] my[H5650] servants[H5650] will[H5650] sing[H7442] for[H7442] joy[H7442] of[H7307] heart,[H3820] but[H2009] you[H3820] will[H5650] cry[H6817] for[H7442] sorrow[H3511] of[H7307] heart,[H3820] and[H5650] will[H5650] wail[H3213] for[H7442] anguish[H2342] of[H7307] spirit.[H7307]
15

You will leave your name for a curse to my chosen; and the Lord Yahweh will kill you. He will call his servants by another name,

You[H7121] will[H5650] leave[H3240] your[H7121] name[H8034] for[H7121] a[H7121] curse[H7621] to[H4191] my[H5650] chosen,[H977] and[H5650] the[H3069] Lord[H3069] Yahweh[H3068] will[H5650] kill[H4191] you.[H7121] He[H7121] will[H5650] call[H7121] his[H7121] servants[H5650] by[H7121] another[H312] name,[H8034]
16

so that he who blesses himself in the earth will bless himself in the God of truth; and he who swears in the earth will swear by the God of truth; because the former troubles are forgotten, and because they are hidden from my eyes.

so[H3588] that[H3588] he[H3588] who[H3588] blesses[H1288] himself[H5315] in[H5869] the[H3588] earth[H776] will[H5869] bless[H1288] himself[H5315] in[H5869] the[H3588] God[H430] of[H5869] truth;[H571] and[H5869] he[H3588] who[H3588] swears[H7650] in[H5869] the[H3588] earth[H776] will[H5869] swear[H7650] by[H7650] the[H3588] God[H430] of[H5869] truth;[H571] because[H3588] the[H3588] former[H7223] troubles[H6869] are[H5869] forgotten,[H7911] and[H5869] because[H3588] they[H3588] are[H5869] hidden[H5641] from[H5869] my[H5641] eyes.[H5869]
17

“For, behold, I create new heavens and a new earth; and the former things will not be remembered, nor come into mind.

For,[H3588] behold,[H2005] I[H3588] create[H1254] new[H2319] heavens[H8064] and[H8064] a[H3588] new[H2319] earth;[H5927] and[H8064] the[H5921] former[H7223] things[H7223] will[H8064] not[H3808] be[H3808] remembered,[H2142] nor[H3808] come[H5927] into[H5927] mind.[H3820]
18

But be glad and rejoice forever in that which I create; for, behold, I create Jerusalem to be a delight, and her people a joy.

But[H3588] be[H3389] glad[H1523] and[H5971] rejoice[H1523] forever[H5704] in[H5971] that[H3588] which[H5971] I[H3588] create;[H1254] for,[H3588] behold,[H2005] I[H3588] create[H1254] Jerusalem[H3389] to[H5704] be[H3389] a[H3588] delight,[H1523] and[H5971] her[H3588] people[H5971] a[H3588] joy.[H4885]
19

I will rejoice in Jerusalem, and delight in my people; and the voice of weeping and the voice of crying will be heard in her no more.

I[H3808] will[H5971] rejoice[H1523] in[H8085] Jerusalem,[H3389] and[H5971] delight[H1523] in[H8085] my[H8085] people;[H5971] and[H5971] the[H8085] voice[H6963] of[H6963] weeping[H1065] and[H5971] the[H8085] voice[H6963] of[H6963] crying[H1065] will[H5971] be[H5750] heard[H8085] in[H8085] her[H8085] no[H3808] more.[H5750]
20

“No more will there be an infant who only lives a few days, nor an old man who has not filled his days; for the child will die one hundred years old, and the sinner being one hundred years old will be accursed.

No[H3808] more[H5750] will[H1961] there[H8033] be[H1961] an[H1961] infant[H5764] who[H1121] only[H3588] lives[H1961] a[H1961] few[H4592] days,[H3117] nor[H3808] an[H1961] old[H1121] man[H5288] who[H1121] has[H1961] not[H3808] filled[H4390] his[H1961] days;[H3117] for[H3588] the[H3588] child[H5288] will[H1961] die[H4191] one[H3808] hundred[H3967] years[H8141] old,[H1121] and[H3967] the[H3588] sinner[H2398] being[H1961] one[H3808] hundred[H3967] years[H8141] old[H1121] will[H1961] be[H1961] accursed.[H7043]
21

They will build houses and inhabit them. They will plant vineyards and eat their fruit.

They[H1992] will[H1004] build[H1129] houses[H1004] and[H1004] inhabit[H3427] them.[H3427] They[H1992] will[H1004] plant[H5193] vineyards[H3754] and[H1004] eat[H398] their[H3427] fruit.[H6529]
22
They will not build and another inhabit. They will not plant and another eat: for the days of my people will be like the days of a tree, and my chosen will long enjoy the work of their hands.
They[H3588] will[H5971] not[H3808] build[H1129] and[H3117] another[H3808] inhabit.[H3427] They[H3588] will[H5971] not[H3808] plant[H5193] and[H3117] another[H3808] eat;[H398] for[H3588] the[H3588] days[H3117] of[H3117] my[H3588] people[H5971] will[H5971] be[H3808] like[H3808] the[H3588] days[H3117] of[H3117] a[H3588] tree,[H6086] and[H3117] my[H3588] chosen[H977] will[H5971] long[H3117] enjoy[H1086] the[H3588] work[H4639] of[H3117] their[H3588] hands.[H3027]
23
They will not labor in vain nor give birth for calamity; for they are the offspring of Yahweh’s blessed and their descendants with them.
They[H1992] will[H3068] not[H3808] labor[H3205] in[H3068] vain[H7385] nor[H3808] give[H3205] birth[H3205] for[H3588] calamity;[H7463] for[H3588] they[H1992] are[H1992] the[H3588] offspring[H2233] of[H3068] Yahweh’s[H3068] blessed[H1288] and[H3068] their[H3068] descendants[H2233] with[H3068] them.[H1992]
24
It will happen that before they call, I will answer; and while they are yet speaking, I will hear.
It[H7121] will[H1961] happen[H1961] that[H8085] before[H2962] they[H1992] call,[H7121] I[H2962] will[H1961] answer;[H6030] and[H6030] while[H5750] they[H1992] are[H1992] yet[H5750] speaking,[H1696] I[H2962] will[H1961] hear.[H8085]
25
The wolf and the lamb will feed together. The lion will eat straw like the ox. Dust will be the serpent’s food. They will not hurt nor destroy in all my holy mountain,” says Yahweh.
The[H3605] wolf[H2061] and[H3068] the[H3605] lamb[H2924] will[H3068] feed[H7462] together.[H3162] The[H3605] lion[H738] will[H3068] eat[H7462] straw[H8401] like[H3808] the[H3605] ox.[H1241] Dust[H6083] will[H3068] be[H3808] the[H3605] serpent’s[H5175] food.[H3899] They[H3068] will[H3068] not[H3808] hurt[H7489] nor[H3808] destroy[H7843] in[H3068] all[H3605] my[H3605] holy[H6944] mountain,”[H2022] says[H559] Yahweh.[H3068]

Chapter 66

1
Yahweh says, “Heaven is my throne, and the earth is my footstool. What kind of house will you build to me? Where will I rest?
2
For my hand has made all these things, and so all these things came to be,” says Yahweh: “but I will look to this man, even to he who is poor and of a contrite spirit, and who trembles at my word.
3
He who kills an ox is as he who kills a man; he who sacrifices a lamb, as he who breaks a dog’s neck; he who offers an offering, as he who offers pig’s blood; he who burns frankincense, as he who blesses an idol. Yes, they have chosen their own ways, and their soul delights in their abominations:
4
I also will choose their delusions, and will bring their fears on them; because when I called, no one answered; when I spoke, they didn’t listen; but they did that which was evil in my eyes, and chose that in which I didn’t delight.”
5
Hear Yahweh’s word, you who tremble at his word: “Your brothers who hate you, who cast you out for my name’s sake, have said, ‘Let Yahweh be glorified, that we may see your joy;’ but it is those who shall be disappointed.
6
A voice of tumult from the city, a voice from the temple, a voice of Yahweh that repays his enemies what they deserve.
7
“Before she travailed, she gave birth. Before her pain came, she delivered a son.
8
